Black History Month
October is Black History Month and we’d like to recognise this important event by highlighting some of the work we’ve done around decolonising the curriculum, recognising the impact colonialism has had on our curriculum and efforts being made across the University to be provide a globally-inclusive education for all.

BILT Student Research Journal: Call for abstracts and members of Editorial Boards
The 6th BILT Student Research Journal is recruiting editorial board members and collecting abstracts!!!
All UG, PGT, and PGR students are welcome to join the editorial board of the journal. Positions include Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Copy Editors, Subject Editor & Deputy Subject Editor, and peer reviewers! This editing experience will contribute to their CVs. Apply for editorial board roles in the Journal here (DDL: 12th November 2024).
All UG, PGT and recent graduates are welcome to submit their paper abstracts. Since last year, each paper can be cited separately, and this year, each paper has its own DOI! Therefore, whether they consider applying for a master or doctoral degree in the future, this publication will contribute! Submit your abstracts to the Journal here (DDL: 7th January 2025).

Show, Tell and Talk
Need support with some of the big education themes and challenges this year? For 2024/25 BILT have expanded their Wednesday afternoon ‘Show, Tell and Talk’ series to include curriculum design workshops, as well as sharing and discussion of education innovations.
First up this autumn are workshops focused on assessment design and feedback, teaching and learning in the international classroom, and generative AI in teaching and learning. For more information on the events and to sign up see below, or visit BILT Show, Tell and Talk.

The first of our ‘Show, Tell and Talk’ series kicks off with Assessment Design and Feedback. This event includes two workshops: one looking at curriculum design and another sharing innovation.

PGR Supervisor Symposium: Celebrating and Developing PGR Supervision at Bristol, 27th November, 1pm – 5pm
After a brief hiatus, last year, the PGR Supervisor Symposium is back for 2024. The symposium offers a safe and inclusive space for University of Bristol PGR supervisors to share best practices and pedagogies, and to explore their experiences of supervising PGR students.
