Zining Want- Lecturer, School of Engineering mathematics and Technology

Zining played a key role in supporting my growth as a researcher by consistently guiding me in the right direction while allowing me to think independently. One of the most valuable aspects of his supervision was his ability to help me see the bigger picture of my research. When I felt uncertain or overwhelmed, he would help me structure my ideas and understand how different components of the project fit together.

Throughout my dissertation, Zining created an environment where I felt comfortable sharing ideas, even when they were not fully developed. Whether it was discussing extensions to existing research or proposing new modelling approaches, he always encouraged open dialogue without judgment.
