A portrait of a woman with long, straight hair and a confident expression against a dark background.

Susanne Quadfleig – Senior lecturer, school of psychological science

Dr. Quadflieg asks careful questions, challenges my reasoning, and guides me towards the key issues I need to address. One of the clearest ways she has helped me grow is in how she encourages independent thinking.

She has also encouraged me to see myself as part of the field more broadly, for example by suggesting that I apply to join European Association of Social Psychology. Taken together, these actions have helped me move from feeling like an isolated PhD student to feeling that I am gradually becoming part of a real academic community.
