He consistently encouraged me to form my own thinking first — to arrive at a view, however tentative — before critically engaging with the work of others. Because of Edwin, my curiosity has not diminished. It has grown more focused, more alive, and more my own.

Learning from him is like drifting down a river in a small boat: the scenery unfolds at a pace you can take in fully, and yet somehow, when you look up, you realise you have already come an astonishing distance.
