A - Z of BILT

The A – Z of BILT: An Introduction

Scene: it is a cold February morning. The wind is scaling Brandon Hill, and 31 Great George Street looms over the surrounding park. Two figures meet momentarily at the entrance to the building. They nod with initial recognition and sharply turn into the building.

A: So, you’ve come to work at the Bristol Institute of Learning and Teaching? How did you find out about us?

B: Well, I had a look at the BILT blog  – there’s quite a lot of stuff on there…

[The End]

And there certainly is quite a lot of stuff. And there’s even more to BILT beyond the blog.

BILT covers a huge range of activities and since its inception since 2017 has published almost 1000 blogs, run 6 conferences and hundreds of events, taught hundreds of colleagues through the CREATE programme, .

So, as a BILT team, we thought this was an opportune moment to showcase some of the stand-out features of BILT, celebrate some of the key activities we host, and put the spotlight on some of the fundamental features of our practice.

Every fortnight (give or take), we’ll be offering a run-through of some of BILT’s greatest hits in our BILT A to Z. Different members of the BILT Team will take turns to write their contributions to the alphabet alphabilt.

Hopefully in these blogs we can point you in the direction of where to find some previous BILT blog post classics and open the windows a little more on what make BILT tick.

First up in the series, we’re spoilt for choice with A. Perhaps a little bit of Authentic assessment? How about a dive into agency and active learning? What’s BILT got to say about accessibility or Artificial Intelligence? This year’s and years’ past Associate Projects?

See you in a couple of weeks for the grand reveal…
