Associate Professor, School of Psychological Sciences
She has inspired me, not just by nurturing me to continue learning a range of theories and approaches, but by also being open to exploring other theoretical frameworks herself, as we learn together during the course of the research.
Throughout, Olivia has been relentlessly supportive and helped me to see the wood from the trees – whilst applying the maxim that the way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time (whilst a PhD is a big elephant…!)
I started the PhD with quite a lot of plates spinning. I have a foot in several other research projects, and I have several Committee roles which have continued from my Public Health career. Whilst at times this has been challenging, Olivia has helped me balance my commitments, keeping me on track to achieve my PhD, whilst encouraging me to undertake other high priority and high impact projects.
