Lecturer, School of Humanities

Jess wasn’t just a lecturer to us on the course, she made us feel like friends. she knew that not only was she teaching mature students, some of which were a similar age to herself, but also those with complicated experiences with education and difficult backgrounds.

That cup of herbal tea and a chat once a week really changed my outlook on education as a whole. She was the reason I passed my course, because of her academic and personal support

All of my course mates would talk about how interesting her lectures were, how she explained concepts to us with passion, how upfront, honest and helpful she was, and how fun it was.
