Lecturer, School of Physics

Dr. Nsangu inspired me to look beyond the typical scope of physics, and to see into the wider world. She asked tough questions about our research for our debates and challenged my opinions about the world and the role of physicists in it. It’s because of those challenges that I’m inspired to look further into news and headlines and be cognisant of the impact these stories have, and how they shape our perception of the world.

Dr. Nsangu made the learning environment inviting and a joy to be a part of. After our debates, our topics would become an open discussion wherein everyone was invited to participate and to have their voice heard.

Questions involving perspectives outside our own, e.g. those from developing countries, were welcomed and thoroughly discussed. I found it very useful to engage with more global perspectives and enjoyed that we did not shy away from potentially tense points of interest.
