Professor, School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering
The whole module is about tying engineering to real world problems, the problems are problems which you would easily come across in the real world and there is not a perfect answer, just as engineering usually doesn’t have a perfect answer in the real world. Through learning how to quickly answer very broad questions we are gaining skills that are very much applicable in any job.
His open-ended style of assessment is innovative and dynamic, it is different to any other assessments we have. The assessment empowers us as it is not made to test our technical knowledge but rather how good of an engineer we are in terms of being able to see the bigger picture and explain technical concepts in simpler ways.
