Beckett is an outstanding supervisor who, since the beginning of my research, has always pushed me forward to obtaining the most out of my PhD degree.
Beckett is not only approachable and supportive but also provides high-quality advice and guidance. They actively engage with us, offering valuable insights and direction, fostering a positive and collaborative working relationship.
He is always able to provide advice and support in relation to research and academic problems or for professional development. For challenging problems that may lie outside of the expertise of our local research group, he has set up meetings or collaborations with other academics and experts in other university departments or at external organisations.
He fosters collaboration amongst his student group, the wider aeroacoustics group, and with external partners to increase the quality and depth of our research. He also ensures there is collaboration between Postgraduate students and Undergraduate students performing research projects as part of their studies, which benefits both parties.
