What the team should be so highly commended for, is the huge effort time, kindness and never-failing patience in time and time again, rearranging placements and accommodation for students who meet physical and mental health challenges through the year. Without a huge joint effort from this admin team, the final year leads and senior tutors, many of these students would have to leave the course. However, with all these efforts to support them, these students have been able to meet their professional competency requirements. I cannot find words really, to explain how vital the admin team are here, to improve accessibility of the veterinary profession and reduce risk to studies.
Personally, as a new member of the final year lead academic team, they have been very welcoming and approachable, and have made a huge difference to my ability to succeed in my new role.
They have absolutely risen to the challenge and embraced changes, maintaining good humour and enthusiasm despite the unavoidable challenges that accompany such a period of change. I want to personally thank them for being so inclusive and positive, it is a joy working with them as part of the wider vet final year team.
