Lecturer in Veterinary Practice (Small Animal Medicine), Bristol Veterinary School
Sarah is so inclusive in teaching and creates an environment where students do not feel nervous or anxious to share ideas and thoughts and this positive environment means that everyone enjoys her sessions.
She uses multiple different elements in her lectures – info giving, turning point/point solutions, Menti word clouds, discussions, Q&A. Also, if something isn’t working for us, she’s always more than happy to change that.
Sarah makes me feel instantly relaxed when she states she does not expect us to understand certain topics straight away, ensuring that we will understand it with time and it takes the pressure off feeling like we need to understand everything straight away which I feel makes the learning environment much more inclusive, especially those who are neurodivergent or dyslexic like myself! This is extremely beneficial for my learning.
Sarah is so warm and she just radiates such kindness that means people feel less anxious about getting things wrong and more likely to contribute. She always makes sure everyone is comfortable and the lighting levels and environment is right for everyone and offers to make adjustments.
