Pedagogic Research Ethics Workshop

The event is for BILT Education Development Project and Associate Project holders. This workshop provides an introduction to ethical considerations in pedagogic research and supports participants in preparing an ethics application for their own project.
During the first part of the workshop (2hrs), attendees can expect to:
- Explore the key principles and elements of informed consent.
- Identify ethical issues and considerations relevant to your pedagogic research project.
- Explore common research methods for data collection (e.g. focus groups).
- Learn where to find guidance, resources, and support for ethics applications.
- Begin drafting your research ethics form with structured guidance and practical examples.
- Have opportunities to ask questions and discuss your project with colleagues.
The second part of the workshop (1hr) is optional and takes the form of a supported writing retreat. This gives you the opportunity to start writing your ethics application with immediate access to support.
