We are BILT, and we're here to provide information and resources to promote educational excellence in the University and beyond. This is our blog site, where you can also find resources, videos and podcasts!
Pedagogic, or educational, research is an integral component of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Higher Education institutions are beginning to promote educational research and are seeking ways of equipping their teaching staff to undertake high quality, impactful research that can lead to improvements in student outcomes and student experience.
This 90 minute in-person session, hosted by Sheena Warman, Steven Proud and Ros O’Leary, takes place in the Seminar Room, on the ground floor of Beacon House Study Centre. The session will give a brief overview of our BILT-funded research projects which are focused on better defining and understanding the pedagogic (educational) research culture here at Bristol. The session will also explore with attendees what further support would be valued by colleagues.
Facilitators:
Sheena Warman – Professor of Veterinary Education, Bristol Veterinary School
Steven Proud – Reader of Economics Education, School of Economics
Ros O’Leary – Head of BILT
Maggie Boswell – EAP Tutor, Centre for Academic Language and Development
The session includes a presentation, group discussion, and will end with a chance to mingle with fellow attendees over tea and biscuits.
Catering arrangements:
