Sharing Sustainability teaching tools: resources for incorporating Sustainability related content in your unit

Please note this is not a BILT event, please contact the organisers if you have any queries.
Have you considered incorporating sustainability-related content or learning activities in your unit but haven’t had the time to look for options?
Do you currently teach in a unit that includes sustainability-related topics and would like to learn about tools for developing new learning activities?
This session might be of interest to you!
This 1 hr online session will share information on tools currently available and used at the University of Bristol for teaching sustainability related topics. Whatever your discipline, you might find something useful to your area of teaching!
Two tools will be presented during this session:
- The Wikirate platform – Sustainability Reporting (SDGs and Modern Slavery)
During the first part of the session, we’ll have a member from the Wikirate team telling us about:
- the platform and its purpose
- the different types of projects that can be conducted on the platform
- how does student participation look like
- how does the Wikirate team support academics and their students in this exercise (what’s included in their service)
Wikirate works in collaboration with PRME and the UN Global Compact, and has partnerships with universities across the globe, including UK based universities.
- Resources from the Ellen Macarthur Foundation – Circular Economy
During the second part of the session, Fatima Lopez Castellanos – Lecturer in Sustainability and Operations at the Business School, will be flagging up resources available in the EMF website teaching circular economy from different perspectives (topics, global issues, industry, geographic regions).
The materials include:
- Explainers
- Case studies – covering topics such as servitisation, sharing economy, construction industry, finance & banking, food and fashion supply chains, etc.
- Podcast
- Videos
